“I was in the parking lot of a porsche repair shop and was fully aware of all the expensive cars around. I was very careful as I put my car in reverse. Suddenly, my Jeep sped across the parking lot in reverse at full throttle. The breaks didn't work and the car wouldn't stop until it smashed into a porsche cayman and totaled it.”

It was towards the middle of the summer I started to noticed the leather on my front dashboard starting to lift and bubble in some areas. By the end of the summer u have massive areas that are starting to bunch up all over my dashboard. As I started to look the problem up due to ive never seen a dashboard do this before. Ive come to learn this is a issue on alot of jeeps my year and Jeep is doing nothing about it. …”
NHTSA complaint #11301277, filed 2020-01, 76,000 miles“The paneling which is in layed on the doors and the front dash are peeling. These pieces are sharp. As they peel passengers, including children can cut themselves. My own child received an injury from one of these pieces. Jeep sent a recall letter to my address, advising me to go to any Jeep dealership to have the issue fixed. The crown chrysler Jeep dodge on 6350 perimeter loop drive accepted the repair on 2 occasions but never repaired the issue. There was no follow up or reason given for not completing the repair, even after keeping my vehicle for 3 days. But its not an official recall. …”

An unfamiliar warning light appeared on the dash (which was not identified in the manual or on-line) consisting of a red steering wheel over 2 red lines. Everything else seemed to be working. I grappled with the wheel to finish the turn, then turned the engine off. After re-starting, the power steering was working again. I had it towed to the dealer because I was afraid it would happen again. …”
NHTSA complaint #10546342, filed 2013-10, 7,500 miles“Passenger side headlamp does not come on in daytime. At dusk, when the sensor turns on brighter lamps; this passenger side headlamp works. At time, when raining or when I want to be seen, I will manually turn on both headlights. Now the passenger side light will not come on during the day; however it will come on with the automatic dusk feature. I see many one-sided daytime running headlamps in the newer model jeeps prior to the new LED rope lighting headlamp feature implemented in 2014. The auto dealer will happily replace the ballast and assembly for $500.00. …”
