“Driver side seat bracket is broken. My seat bracket broke during normal use and I am average weight. Apparently 1,000's of these are broken and many people on the internet are complaining about it. The broken bracket allows the seat to wobble and possibly fall back while driving. Bracket is made of thin gauge steel. This is a very dangerous problem, please investigate.”

NHTSA complaint #10515763, filed 2013-06, 110,000 miles

“Seat heaters have been getting progressively hotter. Passenger side got so hot I thought I was burned. My husband and I heard a pop on passenger side and seat heater slowly cooled down and now does not work. Driver side seat so hot we can't use it. I was talking to another Jeep owner and he said he experienced the same thing whereas his wife actually had red marks on her body for a few days. Why is there no recall?”

NHTSA complaint #10608536, filed 2014-07, 99,000 miles

“I had just bought this vehicle and taking the off ramp in a hard arc while slowing down I felt the drivers seat move. I only had a couple of hundred yards to go so I waited to check it when I got home. The front left seat bracket had sheared away leaving the seat sitting at a funny angle. This is a dangerous thing to happen. Luckily, no one was hurt.”

NHTSA complaint #10367428, filed 2010-11, 166,000 miles

“I was driving my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I noticed my seat starting to wobble. Finally I noticed that the seat bracket snapped on the driver side. This is a total safety issue. I have taken it to Jeep for repair and they advise there is no recall.. How can this be?. Oh and what's the point of wearing a seat belt of the seat isn't even strong enough to stay secure to the vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #10292861, filed 2009-11, 99,500 miles

“The drivers side seat has a broken bracket that allows the assembly to rock back and forth. It was perfectly fine until last week. I have owned this vehicle since 2002 and the seat was never a problem. I have found numerous complaints about seat breakage on the Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo and many other Jeep models. This is a safety issue when all attachment points break and the seat is no longer attached to the mounts.”
