“Vehicle was in motion. I was driving on a city street when my passenger headrest popped out of place. Unknown. I had no collision or was no bumpy road conditions. The plastic part holding the headrest together looks to be broken. Im afraid my driver side headrest might pop open when driving on the highway and hit me and cause a collision.”

NHTSA complaint #11389587, filed 2021-01, 67,000 miles

“I was driving by myself, thankfully, and was slowing down to turn into a parking lot, when the passenger side head rest popped apart violently. I was traveling about 20 MPH. When it exploded. Now the front of the head rest is separated from the back and just hangs there while I wait for the driver side headrest to slam into my head while driving.”

NHTSA complaint #11341555, filed 2020-07, 86,000 miles

“I was getting ready to leave, the vehicle was parked when I heard an extremely loud pop noise! I thought it was an accident or something had smacked into my car until I realized the loud noise came from the headrest popping completely open! I am very grateful that I wasn't driving at the time as this surely could have caused accident and or injury or both.”

NHTSA complaint #11373723, filed 2020-11, 115,000 miles

“Vehicle was stationary when I noticed the active head restraint was deployed. When I inspected it I noticed a clip that holds a metal pin that keeps the head rest in place was broken. There is no way to reset it because of that. I believe the clip broke because its to thin and under all that pressure trying to keep the head rest in place, it gives out and breaks.”

NHTSA complaint #11383981, filed 2020-12, 73,000 miles

“I I was sitting at a red light with no others cars around me and no occupants in the car. All of a sudden I was hit in the back of the head. It was hard enough that I saw stars which resulted in a minor headache. No lights came on, no warning of any kind. I proceeded to a parking lot to see what it was that hit me and my headrest had come apart and popped forward.”
